50th IDD AT  MOOK BADHIR MANDAL, VADODARA.

We attended the 15^th World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) which was held in Madrid, Spain 16^th July onwards to 22^nd July, 2007. The conference highlighted issues like sign language, interpreter, technology, women empowerment, youth, etc. which gave him in depth understanding. The knowledge and insight gained from WFD could be utilized to upgrade and empower hearing-impaired people here in India.

 

 We had taken video footage of WFD lecture & exhibitions. And then we showed the video film on WFD to 700 deaf people in audience hall in Vadodara on 30^th September, 2007.

 

Many deaf like this program and learn many new things from WFD lectures & exhibition.

 

We have showed video film on GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) mobile and make deaf people to understand about the same.

 

We developed DVD cd – 2.30 hour duration on (1) Brief lectures of WFD (2) Brief show on exhibitions of WFD (3) GPRS mobile. DVD has some ISL guidance’s for those lectures & exhibition without subtitle & voice. It cost Rs.150/- + postal charge for different distance.

 

We plan to make ISL dictionary on mobile soon.

 

We have got a new confidence plan of AIRTEL for hearing-impaired. It has some charges.

 

We organized World Deaf Day rally on 26^th September, 2007.
