‘The Deaf Way’ holds contests

Patiala, September 15
The Patiala Deaf Friendship Club celebrated the 50th International Day of the Deaf, under the aegis of The Deaf Way, here today. On this occasion, schools from Amritsar, Sunam, Bathinda, Ludhiana and Barnala participated in the events.

A painting competition was organised in which about 80 students participated in the junior and senior categories. In this competition, Patiala bagged the first two places, while the third and fourth positions went to Barnala and Ludhiana, respectively.

In an intensely fought out quiz competition, early leaders Amar Ashram School, Patiala, held on to the lead while Deaf and Dumb School, Bathinda came second. Barnala challenged them to a tough fight but ended at a third position. Patiala tehsildar G.S. Ahluwalia was the chief guest on this occasion
