Korea earned 2 gold medals in Mixed and Women's Doubles, while Russia also garnered 2 Golds in Men's Singles and Doubles. Bulgaria, on the other hand, dominated in Women's Singles.
Results of the Finals are as follows:
Mixed Doubles
Korea's defending champs Sin Hyunwoo and Jeong Seonhwa edged out Russia's Artemy Mikhailovich Karpov and Alena Igorevna Soboleva 21-14, 20-22 and 25-23, successfully keeping the gold medal in Korea.
Women's Singles
Bulgaria's Gergana Baramova defeated China's Wang Meng despite falling short in the first set 21-23. Baramova turned the deficit around in the following 2 sets with 21-16 and 21-14, securing the Gold for Bulgaria.
Men's Singles
Russia's Artemy Mikhailovich Karpov kept British defending champ Rajeev Bagga from winning today's Final with 21-16, 17-21 and 22-20, and was crowned the champion.
Women's Doubles
Korea's Jeong Seonhwa and Yu Eun Kyung, 2005 Melbourne Deaflympics Silver medalists, easily defeated Russia's Olga Andreevna Shtayger and Alena Igorevna Soboleva with a straight 2-0 win (21-14, 21-11), successfully advancing their way to the Gold this time.
Men's Doubles
Russia's Karpov, after winning the Men's Singles, beat Malaysia's Teh Cheang Hock and Yeo Kok Fang (21-16, 23-21) along with his teammate Mikhail Alexandrovich Efremov, earning the second Gold for Russia in Badminton.
