13 people killed in heavy rainfall, lightning in Maha; 560 rescued by NDRF


At least 13 persons died due to heavy rainfall, floods and lightning in parts of Maharashtra while over 560 people were rescued after NDRF was mobilised and helicopters were deployed, officials said. Of these 13 deaths, 12 were reported from Marathwada and Vidarbha regions and one from North Maharashtra's Nashik district, an official stated.


A leopard cub believed to be about a few months old was spotted on the street in Aarey Milk Colony by the local residents on Tuesday. The cub, that appeared to be lost, was seen walking down the road in rain in a video. The cub was later rescued after the residents alerted forest department officials, local police and volunteers.
