2324 -Man who placed Quran in Puja pandal leading to violence in Bangladesh identified
Bangladesh Police have identified the man who placed the Quran at the knee of a statue of Lord Hanuman at a Durga Puja pandal as 35-year-old Iqbal Hossain. The incident led to communal violence in Bangladesh wherein seven people were killed. In a video, Hossain is purportedly seen taking the Quran to the pandal and walking away with Hanuman's club.
Twitter suspends ISKCON Bangladesh account after attack on temple by mob
Twitter has suspended ISKCON Bangladesh's Twitter account after the temple was attacked in Bangladesh's Noakhali by a mob of over 200 people amid attacks on other Hindu temples. ISKCON has decided to go on protest on October 23. "We've almost 700 temples in 150 countries and all the temples are participating in this," Radharamn Das, ISKCON in-charge and spokesperson, said.
