Prices of cryptocurrencies on India platforms fell sharply overnight as selling accelerated after the government said a Cryptocurrency Bill will be introduced in Parliament. On WazirX, as of 9 am, Bitcoin was down 24% in last 24 hours, while Ether was down 23%. The bill seeks to prohibit private cryptocurrencies in India, with certain exceptions to promote the underlying tech.
