The friend of Mofiya Parveen, a law student from Kerala who died by alleged suicide over dowry harassment, has said her husband demanded money after marriage. "They (Parveen's in-laws) wanted a land adjacent to their house to be brought as dowry, they...complained that nothing much was given to her, including gold," he said. Parveen's husband sexually assaulted her, he claimed.
