A female dog in Chhattisgarh watched over an abandoned newborn baby girl along with her litter of 6-7 puppies in a field, the NGO that rescued the baby said. The baby, who was abandoned without any clothes, was guarded by the dog throughout the night and was found lying uninjured among the pups. The umbilical cord was reportedly still attached.
