As many as 77 rape cases and 80 murders were reported daily on an average in the country in 2020, according to the data released by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). A total of 28,046 rape cases were reported during the year, with Rajasthan reporting the most 5,310 rapes. Murders totalled 29,193 in 2020, with UP reporting most of them.
