The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced that it will be donating $2.1 billion over the next five years to advance gender equality. The amount is among the largest single commitments made by Gates Foundation. The announcement comes almost a month after the foundation's co-chairs Melinda French Gates and Bill Gates announced their divorce after 27 years of marriage.
