China on Friday operationalised its first fully electrified bullet train in Tibet, connecting the provincial capital Lhasa and Nyingchi, the Tibetan border town close to Arunachal Pradesh. The section of Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway is 435.5 km long, with a design speed of 160 kmph, the Chinese state media reported. In November, Xi Jinping had instructed officials to expedite the construction.
