Death toll from Haiti's 7.2-magnitude earthquake rises to 1,297


At least 1,297 people were killed and over 5,700 injured in a 7.2-magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on Saturday, according to the country's civil protection agency. Prime Minister Ariel Henry declared a state of emergency, and pledged to "mobilise all the resources of my administration to help victims". Further, Tropical Storm Grace is forecast to hit Haiti on Monday.
