Fire at overcrowded Indonesian prison kills 41, injures dozens


At least 41 people died and dozens of others were injured after a fire broke out at an overcrowded prison near Indonesia's Jakarta. Hundreds of police and soldiers were deployed around the prison to prevent prisoners from escaping, Jakarta police chief Fadil Imran said. Tangerang prison housed over 2,000 inmates, far more than its 600 people capacity, government data showed.
