Former Congress MP and ex-President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit joins TMC

Former Congress MP and ex-President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit Mukherjee on Monday joined the Trinamool Congress in Kolkata, West Bengal. Abhijit Mukherjee has been a two-term MP from Jangipur in the Lok Sabha. Notably, the Jangipur Assembly seat is due for a bypoll as a candidate there had passed away just before the elections.
