Man slapped by Chhattisgarh Collector to get new phone: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday informed that a new mobile phone as a compensation will be made available to the man, whose phone got damaged during the misbehaviour by Surajpur District Collector. Meanwhile, CM Baghel has directed the removal of the Collector. "No such act will be tolerated in Chhattisgarh," he had tweeted about the incident.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked the Chhattisgarh government to register an FIR and take disciplinary action against Surajpur District Collector Ranbir Sharma for slapping a man who violated lockdown rules. The officer was removed on CM Bhupesh Baghel's instructions. In a video, Sharma can be seen slapping the man and throwing away his phone.
The man, who was slapped by a District Collector in Chhattisgarh, said that he was returning home after delivering food to his hospitalised COVID-19 infected grandmother. "Is a person not even allowed to provide food to a hospital admittee during a lockdown?" asked Aman Mittal. Surajpur's District Collector was removed after a video of him slapping Aman went viral.
