Over 1,000 people have been killed by security forces in Myanmar since the military coup on February 1, an official of the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners activist group said. "[Actual] number of victims is much higher," AAPP secretary Tate Naing said. Myanmar's military seized power in a coup after Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi's ruling party won elections.
