Russia to invite Taliban to int'l talks on Afghanistan on Oct 20

Russia will invite representatives of the Taliban to international talks on Afghanistan, President Vladimir Putin's special representative on Afghanistan said on Thursday. Russia plans to host the talks in Moscow on October 20. Notably, Russia, the US, China and Pakistan released a joint statement in March, calling on the then-warring Afghan sides to reach a peace deal and curb violence.
