Tamil Nadu government reduces petrol price by ₹3

The price of petrol in Tamil Nadu has been reduced by ₹3, state Finance Minister P Thiaga Rajan announced during his maiden budget speech. He said the move is expected to cause a revenue loss of ₹1,160 crore to state exchequer. As part of its manifesto, the DMK had promised that the price of petrol will be reduced by ₹5.
