Trump says Taliban, founded in 1994, has been 'fighting for 1,000 years'

Former US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News claimed that the Taliban has been "fighting for 1,000 years". He added, "The Taliban...good fighters...I will tell you they're good fighters...you have to give them credit for that." Taliban, which means "students" in the Pashto language, was formed in 1994 around the southern Afghan city of Kandahar.
