US airstrikes in Iraq, Syria kill 5 militia fighters: War monitor

Five militia fighters were killed in the airstrikes carried out by the US on Sunday in Iraq and Syria against Iran-backed militia, according to the UK-based war monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The US Department of Defense said that the targets were chosen in response to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks against US personnel and facilities in Iraq.
