US Prez Biden urged to give 60 mn COVID-19 vaccine doses to India

Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi has urged US President Joe Biden to allocate at least 60 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to India. Krishnamoorthi said, "Help is on the way... And [we'll]...do everything we can." Meanwhile, American civil rights activist Rev Jesse Jackson Sr also urged Biden for the same, fearing the COVID-19 variant found in India could spread to the world.

US provided over $500 mn in COVID-19 relief to India: White House

The US has so far provided over $500 million in COVID-19 assistance to India, the White House said. "It includes contributions from the US federal and state governments, American companies and private citizens," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said. She added that the US is now working to extend assistance to other South Asian countries hit by COVID-19.
