The Kerala Forest Department has seized 19 kg of ambergris or 'whale vomit' worth ₹30 crore from Chettuva in Thrissur district and arrested three persons, officials said. The accused told officials they managed to source the ambergris from some fishermen in Sri Lanka. Ambergris, produced in the digestive system of sperm whales, is used to manufacture perfumes.
