2500 - Plea in SC seeks sign language interpreters in govt press briefings

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the central and state governments to provide sign language interpreters in all official press briefings. The petitioner said that press briefings in India are "neither inclusive nor accessible". Access to sign language is the "key to breaking down communication barriers" for people with hearing impairments, the petitioner added.
