PM Narendra Modi and J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced a total of ₹12-lakh ex-gratia each for families of those who died in the stampede at Vaishno Devi. PM Modi also announced that the injured would be given ₹50,000 from the PMNRF and Sinha announced an additional ₹2 lakh for the injured. At least 12 people died in the stampede.
