Around 8,000 contractual employees of Punjab Roadways and Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) began an indefinite strike from Monday to protest against the delay in regularisation of their services. "Around 200 buses from Ludhiana bus stand and 2,500 across the state will remain off roads," union's district President Shamsher Singh said. Regular staff will operate some buses, officials said.
